A little bit about me:
I am a fully-trained, Chinese Medicine style acupuncturist, having completed a three and a half year, full-time Bachelor of Science degree at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, in Reading, UK, accredited by Kingston University.
I practise both Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council: the largest regulatory body for acupuncturists in the UK and adhere to their strict codes of professional conduct and safe practice.
I have always been interested in the benefits of alternative health therapies and prior to discovering those of acupuncture, I trained in Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage, Hypnotherapy and became a Reiki Master. A crisis period in my own life, however, left me searching for something more which led me to try acupuncture and after having successful treatment I felt compelled to study and train to become an acupuncturist.
One of the things I find most appealing about traditional acupuncture treatments is that consideration is given to the whole person: all of their systems and every aspect of how they are on an emotional and physical level. As such, traditional acupuncture is a style of treatment more able to find and treat the underlying root cause of any problem and is therefore better placed to not only address individual symptoms but to also leave the individual feeling more generally well-balanced and healthier.
I am very committed to continuing my professional development and regularly carry out additional training in order to give the best possible care to my patients. Amongst others, I have completed additional training in understanding male and female fertility from a Chinese Medicine perspective, including the interpretation of basal body temperature charts, and Facial Enhancement Acupuncture.
I am registered to practise with my local council and professionally insured.
